Do I need a referral for orthotics?

Yes, you will need medical doctor’s referral if you would like your orthotics to be covered by insurance. The referral must say that the patient requires custom orthotics and a diagnosis as to why you need them (i.e. pes planus, plantar fasciitis, back pain, knee pain, etc.). You must bring this to your appointment and pay for the orthotics up-front. The insurance company will reimburse you once they approve your claim.
